Wetaskiwin School Division is seeking a passionate and skilled educator for a temporary full-time teaching position at Wetaskiwin Composite High School. Serving approximately 850 students from Grades 9 to 12, our school is a dynamic learning environment. WCHS is located in the City serving students from the City of Wetaskiwin and its surrounding areas, including the Town of Millet.
This exciting role focuses on guiding students in exploring post-secondary and career opportunities, equipping them with essential skills for the workforce. You will be responsible for delivering Career Technology Studies (CTS) and Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) instruction across the following areas:
- Communications Technology
- Design Studies
- Robotics
- Familiarity with drones
- Working knowledge of:
- Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.)
- Autodesk (Inventor, Revit)
- Lego Mindstorms and VEX Robotics
Preference will be given to incumbents possessing the following qualifications;
- B.Ed. with a major in CTS/CTF
- Experience teaching Jr and Sr High
- 1 to 2 years of teaching experience
- Inclusive education philosophy and experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, teachers, parents/guardians
- An ability to work cooperatively as part of an educational team
- Knowledge and experience using emerging technologies to inform, practice and transform learning via Google Apps for Education and other cloud-based apps
- Commitment to support the Health and Safety Program and complete training within the set timeframes as prescribed by the Board will be required.
