Norwood School has Heart - Remembering the 215 Lost Lives

Norwood School staff and students created a message of solidarity on their school fence last week entitled "Norwood School has Heart" in remembrance of the 215 Indigenous children's remains discovered recently at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC.

Every student in the school painted a wood cutout of a little person or a heart and attached them to the fence. There are 215 cutouts.

Along with this activity, teachers Ms Kuester and Ms Moger created a slide show as a resource to prepare students for the activity and to educate staff & students on the history of residential schools and the path towards reconciliation.
