We are excited to announce that both Buck Mountain Central School and Queen Elizabeth School were successful in their application for the Strengthening Opportunities for Adolescent Resilience, Inclusion & Growth (SOARING) grant. Both schools will receive $3,400 in 2023 to fund a youth-led project in their school community.
The SOARING pilot project aims to:
- Increase access and availability of funding for youth-led initiatives to identify and address risk and protective factors that help youth live healthy, safe, and active lives.
- Support local youth to bring their ideas to life and benefit the community
Youth aged 12+ will be part of engagement sessions to identify an area of interest and come up with a plan to spend the funds. The school and the WRPS Wellness Support Team will support this work and help bring their ideas into action."
