Dr. Buffum speaks to staff.

All Teachers in Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools participated in a workshop on September 18 & 19, 2014.  This Workshop was facilitated by Dr. Austin Buffum, an experienced administrator who has delivered training and presentations to more then five-hundred school districts throughout the country and around the world. Dr. Buffum presented on Response to Intervention (RTI), where teachers learned about the Four C's which work interdependently to create the system structures, and processes needed to provide every child with additional time and support.   Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools will be considering the implementation of RTI and the essential four C's; Collective responsibility, Concentrated instruction, Convergent assessment and Certain access which are the essential guiding principles of RTI.   Teachers spent two full days working with Dr. Buffum and fellow staff members to learn the fundamental aspects of Response to Intervention.
