World Read Aloud Day at Griffiths-Scott

Griffiths-Scott celebrated World Read Aloud Day on Wednesday, February 1. All of the Griffins from K to grade 8 enjoyed stories and reading with each other. It’s an amazing sight to see almost 300 students reading together in hallways and classrooms. No phones, no computers, no tablets . . . just books and kids!

World Read Aloud Day is celebrated annually around the world to motivate children, teens, and adults to celebrate the power of words. “This global literacy movement is about taking action to show the world that the right to read and write belongs to all people.”

The movement which is sponsored by Scholastic began in 2010 and Millet School / Griffiths-Scott has participated every year since then! Reading is the key to education and life-long learning.
