Norwood School and The Wetaskiwin Hospital and Continuing Care Centre have created a partnership that offers valuable opportunities for students and residents to enjoy some recreation and leisure time together. Under the supervision of a teacher and a recreation therapist, junior high students are paired with residents to cook or bake something delicious. While food was in the oven, students spent time visiting with the residents and touring the facility. Students have visited twice already. There are plans for one more visit and Norwood school will be welcoming residents to their Spring Concert. We believe that these intergenerational activities provide tremendous benefits for all those involved.
Visitors are required to wear a mask in all AHS continuing care centers. Physical distancing is maintained when a mask is not worn (i.e., while eating/drinking).
