Ukrainian Culture comes to Alder Flats

Calmar’s Zirka Dancers made an appearance at Alder Flats School on February 16^th.

The dance group showcased dances and costumes from different regions of the Ukraine, impressing both staff and students.

Grade 2 students study the culture of the Ukraine as it relates to our Canadians of Ukrainian heritage.  Grade 3 students study the country of the Ukraine.   The presentation helped bring to life topics discussed in both classrooms. 

All students enjoyed the lively music and physically demanding dances.  They also learned some basic Ukrainian words and finished up the concert by dancing themselves.
