All students at Pipestone School, within regular lessons, have been discussing empathy. Recently, WRPS Wellness Worker Kalea Gougoulas augmented the discussion with an activity called "Empathy: If the shoe fits..." where students were able to record their thoughts about how showing empathy makes someone feel, define empathy, and share a time they showed empathy.
Students were encouraged to personalize their shoes with color and design for display on a prominent school bulletin board for mental health week (May 2-8) in which the theme is The Importance Of Empathy.
