Pumpkins Galore at the Early Education & Family Wellness Centre

Pumpkins were generously donated by families for the children to use for many different activities. The students at the Early Education and Family Wellness Centre used their fine motor skills by hammering golf tees into the pumpkins. Concepts were taught by talking about size, colours, textures, and mass. We rolled the pumpkins down the slide to see how fast and far they would go and we practiced teamwork and heavy work by carrying them to the gymnasium.

Then the students were challenged to explore the insides of a pumpkin. They stuck their hands in the goo, they picked out the seeds, and made pumpkin stew. The students took turns stirring the stew and then baked the pumpkin seeds!

Students had so much fun exploring pumpkins!
