Panther Boys Off to 2A Volleyball Provincials

After many years of watching provincials from the sideline, the Pigeon Lake Panthers boys volleyball team qualified for the 2A ASAA Provincials in Black Diamond, AB from November 24-26th.

The boys enjoyed their weekend down at Provincials in Black Diamond.  They played hard and did a great job representing the school.  The boys fell short in some close games and did not make it to the playoff round.  Overall it was a great way to finish off a fantastic year and they should be very proud of their accomplishments.

Prior to provincials, heading into zones as the third seed on the west side, the boys took home the silver medal at the zone championships earning a wildcard ticket to “the big dance”. The first game of the day saw the boys lose to last year’s provincial silver medalist, CACHS, and they had to play the rest of the weekend with their backs against the wall. Rallying off wins against Tofield, and OLMP, gave the Panthers one more shot against CACHS where they would have to settle for the silver.

The season was full of many highlights, learning opportunities, and experiences over the past three months, but the commitment level from all ten players led to an exciting weekend that the team will never forget.

A big congratulations to all of the boys. Panther Pride!
