National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Each year, September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. All Division Schools and Facilities will be closed on Friday, September 29, 2023. The day honours and recognizes Canada’s residential school survivors, their families, and communities. WRPS Flags will be lowered Thursday  to Monday morning. Sites with a 3rd flag pole, the Survivor flag will be displayed.  

Throughout the week of September 25th - September 29th, everyone is encouraged to wear their orange shirts. Schools will undertake impactful activities and meaningful learning that focuses on Indigenous foundational knowledge and cultural practices.
