JENNIFER DAY WINS VACANT TRUSTEE SEAT IN DIVISION 3 BY-ELECTION

Jennifer Day was elected as school board trustee in Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools Division 3 by-election held on November 2, 2015.  She will fill the trustee seat left vacant since September, when board chair Deanna Specht resigned. 

Day, a stay at home mother of seven and education advocate, was the successful candidate. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University with a major in Modern Languages and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge with a major in Science Education.

Three candidates vied for the division 3 trustee seat, including Paula Lamoureux, & Raymond Unger.  The results of the November 2, 2015 by-election were Jennifer Day 57 votes, Paula Lamoureux 32 votes and Raymond Unger 27 votes.

“I look forward to my new role and being able to contribute in a way that positively impacts students,” stated Jennifer Day

Jennifer Day will assume her role as division 3 Trustee at the next board meeting to be held on November 10th.  

“I would like to welcome Jennifer to the Wetaskiwin Regional Public School Board we look forward to working with her on the important issues facing our division,” stated Barb Johnson, Board Chair.
