Horses for Hope

As a result of a partnership with Hope Mission, students at Norwood School and other schools have the opportunity to experience working with horses in their "Horses for Hope" program.

This helps students to develop many life skills that benefit them in multiple ways.  The students report becoming more confident and courageous.   When the students work with horses they must treat them with empathy and kindness which transfers into other areas of their life.

The students are given the opportunity to develop their skills in horsemanship and knowledge.  As they work with the horses they learn that they can face and overcome new challenges.

Through participation in this program, students also gain the skill of flexible thinking, having to adapt to changing situations.

Staff report that they have seen noticeable benefits with the students who have been participating with this program.
