In February, 1954 the Gwynne School opened its doors to 167 students from grade 1-9. Six area schools of Roseland, Big Hay Lakes, Crooked Lake, Offerdale, Harvest Home and Gwynne consolidated into one large new building.

Sixty years later Gwynne School remains part of a rich history and incredible legacy for the families surrounding the Gwynne valley. The families, grade configurations, and curriculum have changed over the years but what remains constant is the special community feeling, you get from being a “Gwynne Kid”.

Slide rules have been replaced by computers but the values of hard work, good citizenship, and a love of learning keep Gwynne School as a center of excellence. Gwynne School and its parent council would like to take this opportunity to invite all former students, staff and their families to help us celebrate sixty wonderful years at the Gwynne School Friday, June 13 at 1 pm.
