In conjunction with fire protection week the students at Gwynne were treated to an interactive afternoon of safety and fire suppression compliments of the Wetaskiwin Fire Department. Students received instruction, take away information and exciting hands on experience directed at fire prevention and safety. Under the direction of Fire Chief Leigh Sawicki , Deputy Chief Alex Plant , James Gilbert and Leala Mitchell - Gwynne students gained valuable insight to prevent burn injuries and see firsthand how firefighters prepare to keep our community safe . A big thank you goes out to our community partners at the City of Wetaskiwin and these great employee’s for making an important lesson into a fun and memorable event.
