Grade 6 students at Falun School have been researching the benefits of plants in the environment and have developed some strategies to beautify our school with greenery. They decided to complete a grant application to fund a Tower Garden for the school.
Their grant application was successful and on February 20, 2019, Rick Burden, Stakeholder Relations Manager presented a cheque for $1000 to Falun School to support this growing opportunity. Students accepted the cheque with excitement and are looking forward to the arrival of the system.
Once the supplies arrive, the tower garden will be set-up in the foyer area of the school so it can beautify our school and support learning. Teachers and students will benefit by the incorporation of practical study of plants into their lessons.
