Clear Vista School:  The next Wrestling Hotspot?

Could Clear Vista School become the next Wrestling hotspot in our school division? The answer to that question might be difficult to access at these early stages however judging from the first organizational meeting, it seems many Clear Vista students are eager to become part of the rich history wrestling has had in Wetaskiwin Regional schools over the years.

Like all school sports wrestling teaches young participants so many valuable lessons about not only sport, but life in general.  Besides developing basic athletic skills, wrestling develops personal responsibility among its participants. Unlike its professional counterpart, if things aren’t going well, there is no one to tag or blame your performance on.  When you step out on the mat, win or lose, it’s entirely up to you!

As physical height and weight are large factors for success in many school sports, wrestlers come in all shapes and sizes.  It does not matter whether you are short or tall, big or small, everyone can be extremely successful if they work hard.

Certainly given the rich wrestling history Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools has had over the years in developing young people in this sport from their very first exposure to winning Provincial, National and World Championships.  The sky will be the limit for Clear Vista students who dream big, however more than anything, we want students to come out, enjoy the comradery of fellow classmates, and just have a lot of fun!

Clear Vista Schools is looking forward to the season ahead.
