On October 22nd Clear Vista School had thirty one student ambassadors from grades 6-8, along with educators Ryan Mennear, Heather Schnell and Megan Thurmeier, attended the annual WE Day event at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

The prerequisite to attending was to have completed a fundraising event both locally and globally. Clear Vista School has been involved with the WE Day movement since 2013. Since that time they have raised almost $50,000.00.  They built the first school in Africa in 2014 and vowed to try and build a school every 5 years. Last year they fulfilled their goal and raised $10,000.00 for another school. Fundraising is done through Wakeathons, water balloon tosses at staff, and cake walks in the gym.

Clear Vista School has also become more locally aware since participating with WE. They collect food for the food bank at Halloween and have volunteered to serve meals to the less fortunate in Edmonton.

Clear Vista School was also chosen as one of only two schools in the province to have a meet and greet with the Minister of Education, Adriana LaGrange.  She was very interested in all that Clear Vista has done for the WE movement throughout the years. The WE movement has definitely created change in throughout the community!!
