After 100 days of learning, creating and exploring, the Grade 2 class at Centennial School was finally able to celebrate the 100th day of school! Students worked hard all year to develop a strong number sense to 100. The Grade 2s celebrated by making a necklace with 100 fruit loops, walking 100 steps around the school and participating in 100-second challenges. Some students even dressed up as if they were 100 years old! To end the day, the class created 100-year-old “self-portraits” to accompany a writing activity. What a fun way to celebrate!
Centennial students took action to help bring smiles to the faces of Senior citizens in our community. Students in different grades wrote letters and/or drew pictures, and delivered them to Senior Citizens through the Wetaskiwin Library “Happy Grams” service. Mayor Tyler Gandam acknowledged the student’s hard work in a recent Facebook post. We are so proud of our Centennial Sharks!
