Student Achievement Analysis by Alberta Education
Alberta Education measures of Socio-Economic Status (SES) demonstrates the range of challenges faced in different schools and authority populations across the province.  This data provides a very different perspective on student achievement focusing on the value added by the school division.  The results indicate that based in Social Economic (SES) indexes for Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools we have achieved the highest academic improvement score of all public, separate and francophone school authorities.  This is a true "celebration of excellence" given the fiscal challenges, the cuts to staff and programs that the Division has faced over five plus years.  Commendations are extended to all staff for their outstanding contribution to the academic success of our students.

Lakedell School Success Initiatives
Lakedell School is committed to a collaborative approach and follow-though on collective commitments to improve student engagement and learning.  A review of strategies and best practices that Lakedell School implemented over the past few years includes flex block times, collaboration between teachers, and several school wide initiatives that are being used to engage students in their learning.  Lakedell School has seen a steady increase in the Provincial Achievement Test results for literacy and numeracy.

2016-2017 School Year Calendar Consultation Results
The Division conducted an extensive survey with parents and staff regarding a draft 2016-2017 school year calendar that included 200 operational days.  Results of the surveys were reviewed by the Board and administration was directed to develop the 2016-2017 school year calendar based on the themes that emerged from surveys.  Thank you to all who participated in the 2016-2017 Calendar consultation survey.
