At École Parkdale School staff are committed to infusing learning into everything that the students do. They are teaching their students to become Engaged Thinkers, Ethical Citizens and to have an Entrepreneurial Spirit and to expand these skills as they move forward in their education and into their careers.

At École Parkdale School they have monthly Wolf Pack activities that involve the entire school body. Historically these activities involved mixed groupings of students across grade-levels with the goal of building relationships in family-type groupings within our student body. Last year the students provided feedback indicating that they preferred to complete activities with their homeroom classes and their own teacher in order to further solidify their own relationships. They staff listened and made this change

École Parkdale School has made it a priority to ensure that the Wolf Pack activities infuse learning. At the most recent Wolf Pack activity, classes were given the task to build the tallest structure possible using spaghetti and marshmallows. Students followed the “Planning Like an Engineer” process: Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create and Improve by creating a blueprint in class and bringing it to the gym for the Creation and Improvement phases. This process involved the 21st Century Skills of thinking critically, identifying and solving complex problems, innovating, and good communication skills and working cooperatively with others. The winning team came from the grade 3 class who built a 86 cm tall spaghetti and marshmallow structure. Amazing!
