Alder Flats Elementary School has established a ‘Mindset Focus’ this school year.
Each month they are keeping a different focus in mind and asking students to practice turning a ‘Negative’ into a ‘Positive’.
In September they started with…I made a mistake. Mistakes help me to learn.
In October our focus is… My friends can do it. I will learn from them.
In September during the first week of school each class did their part to create a bulletin board display. The Plan is to leave it up all year. They discussed at the first school assembly the importance of everyone working together to make Alder Flats school positive.
At the October students requested to put on a skit about ‘Our Positive School’.
All staff, students and parents play a role in this and ‘Together We Can Achieve’.
