Alberta Opera Performs Rumpelstiltskin at Falun School

On March 17^th, 2015 all students from Pipestone, Lakedell, and Falun converged at the Falun School Gym. We had the excellent opportunity to see the Alberta Opera’s presentation of the musical play “Rumpelstiltskin”. Four performers from Alberta Opera presented the enthralling tale that had a twist to the old tale with the story taking place in the 1950’s era. Eight students participated directly in the performance as stage crew, prop movers, and performers. The Alberta Opera provides teachers with a study guide and a sing along song for the students to practice prior to the performance. All of the students were thoroughly engaged in the performance. The exposure to high end performing arts supports our students to think about careers and opportunities in areas that they may never thought about. There definitely were future performers in the audience!
