Administrative Changes Effective for 2017-2018 School Year

Congratulations to the following Administrators who will be taking on new roles and responsibilities effective in the 2017-2018 school year.  Wetaskiwin Regional Public School (WRPS) is pleased to announce:

Donnalyn Carson will be the new Principal of Winfield School.  Donnalyn is currently the Vice Principal at Ecole Parkdale School. Before joining our school division, Donnalyn supervised the counselling program at Ermineskin Elementary in Maskwacis. Donnalyn holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Saskatchewan and she is currently working on her Masters of Education at the University of Saskatchewan. Donnalyn brings a strong background of fostering effective relationships, encouraging collaboration and leading teams that create successful learning environments for students. 

Kris Denney will be the new Principal of Wetaskiwin Composite High School.  Kris is currently the Principal of Pigeon Lake Regional School, and prior to that, he was the Principal of Winfield School and Vice Principal of Buck Mountain Central School. Kris holds a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education, and a Masters of Education from the University of Saskatchewan. Kris is a strong instructional leader who brings a great deal of enthusiasm as he works to create a caring, engaged and collaborative school environment.

Melissa Humby will be the new Principal of Pigeon Lake Regional School.  Melissa is currently the Principal of Buck Mountain Central School; she has been part of that school community for 13 years in the roles as a Teacher, Vice Principal and Principal.  Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Secondary Education from Acadia University, Nova Scotia. Melissa also holds a Masters of Education from the University of Alberta and she recently completed her Education Technology Team Teacher Certification from Adams State University in Colorado.  Melissa is a student-focused educational leader with a strong commitment to creating learning environments where students can excel.

Jonathan Meyers will be the new Principal of Buck Mountain Central School.  Jon is currently the Vice Principal of Buck Mountain Central School.  Jon has also taught at Millet School, Pigeon Lake Regional School and was the Vice Principal at Norwood Elementary School.  Jon holds a Bachelor of Education from Trinity Western University and a Masters of Education from the University of Alberta.  Jon has a proven ability to build positive relationships and he has taken an active leadership role in all of the schools he has worked in.
