2022-2023 Learning Calendars

Stakeholders, families, and staff were provided the opportunity to voice their opinions through calendar surveys that were open until February 4, 2022.

The survey results were reviewed with the Board. The majority indicated that Version 2 (Fall Break) of the Regular Learning Calendar and Version 1 (Traditional) of the Modified Learning Calendar are the preferred calendars.

The surveys suggested minor adjustments to the calendars, including:

  • changing November 1 to a PLC Day as students typically do not learn well on the day following Halloween,
  • adding an extra day at the start of Christmas Break (December 23) to allow families to have a travel day before Christmas,
  • having only one organizational day at the end of the school year, and recognizing June 21 (National Indigenous Peoples Day) on our calendars.

The board approved the 2022-2023 Learning Calendars as presented. Learning calendars for 2023-2024 will be drafted using the same calendar principles and presented to the Board for approval at the March 15, 2022 Regular Board Meeting.
