As you may be aware, our school division recently experienced the loss of one of our students.
Shekinah Kazadi, a grade 8 student at Queen Elizabeth School, passed away tragically on July 1. We mourn with this student's family. The oldest of four children, Shekinah will be remembered as a bright light in her family and in her school.
Our counselling team is working with the school to support staff and students in dealing with this loss. There is also help available from the community. You are encouraged to reach out if you require support connecting to available resources.
We know you join us in our concern and sympathy for Shekinah's family. For those wanting to support the family financially, Jordan's No Frills in Wetaskiwin is accepting cash donations until Monday, July 12. 2021. These donations will be given directly to the family to support them with funeral costs and other needs at this time.
