Lakedell School Raises Funds for Terry Fox Foundation

Each year Lakedell School students raise funds for the Terry Fox Foundation by collecting pledges and participating in the Terry Fox Run. Students were encouraged to achieve their fundraising goal of $1200 through incentives including an ice cream party and small rewards. The school incentive was rather substantial—if children raised $1200 for the Terry Fox Foundation, staff would host a movie afternoon and top fundraisers would earn the opportunity to toss a pie in the face of staff volunteers.

Students came through for our charity of choice, and raised an incredible $2 473.60 for the Terry Fox Foundation, the most raised in several years and a true achievement for a school with less than one hundred students. As a result, students recently enjoyed a movie in the gym and ten students were able to pie a staff member of their choice. Several staff members volunteered, and much hilarity ensued.

We are very proud of our Lakedell students and families for raising such a great amount for the Terry Fox Foundation.
