To publicly commemorate truth and reconciliation across the Division, the Board changed September 30, 2021 to a school closure day. All Division schools and facilities will be closed on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
The Board wishes to honour and recognize Canada’s residential school survivors, their families, and communities. Schools will still undertake impactful activities and meaningful learning that focuses on Indigenous foundational knowledge and cultural practices, and are encouraged to wear their orange shirts throughout the week of September 27 - October 1.
