ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day intensive, interactive and practice-dominated course designed to help caregivers recognize and review risk, and intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. It is by far the most widely used, acclaimed and researched suicide intervention training workshop in the world. This workshop is valid for 14 Class ‘A’ Continuing Competency credits for Social Workers.

Workshop Dates: 

  • May 13-14, 2019 (Wetaskiwin)

These two-day workshops run from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Preregistration is required.


The fee for this course is $250 per person. Lunch is provided.

*NOTE: If you are unable to be present for all hours of the workshop, you will not receive your certification. You cannot re-take the missed time and will be required to re-take the entire workshop, at your expense, in order to receive your certification. 

Cancellation Policy: WRPS reserves the right to cancel workshops if minimum registration numbers are not met or if weather does not permit; in the event that WRPS elects to cancel a workshop, full refunds will be issued.

If a participant cancels their registration, a $50.00 cancellation fee will apply. If a participant cancels their registration fewer than 2 business days prior to the workshop, no refund will be issued.
