Parkdale School and Community Partnerships

The students and staff at Parkdale School are proud to be part of the Wetaskiwin community. We have been fortunate to be able to make many connections to organizations and businesses within Wetaskiwin. Our students often go to the Seasons Retirement Village to share performances and visit with the residences throughout the year. This relationship brings smiles to both groups. We have also been fortunate enough to have the First United Church come to the school and facilitate the opportunity for our students to pick out a Christmas gift for their family. Wetaskiwin Family Chiropractic Clinic has teamed up with us to help spread the Christmas Spirit. Hope Mission helps to feed our families and they come to the school and run the popular Kids In Action Program. We appreciate these partnerships as they truly make a difference with our families.

The students recognize this support and the leadership group has planned a number of activities this year to give back. The have collected mittens, toques and scarves for Neighborhood Outreach Wetaskiwin. They reached out to Wetaskiwin Secret Santa and had a toy drive to support families in Wetaskiwin. The choir is asking for food bank donations at the Christmas Concert and the leadership group will be doing a food bank drive in January. We are fortunate to not only receive support from the community, but the opportunity to give back gives us purpose as well. We are proud members of the City of Wetaskiwin.
