Falun School celebrated the opening of the Smudge Room on November 23, 2018.
All students participated in an assembly which featured a fancy dance performance by Neveah Twins-Kaquitts, a message about kindness towards others by Elder Lorraine White, and a celebratory round dance in which all students participated. Students enjoyed bannock in the afternoon.
It was an honour to have Elder White hold our Smudge Room ceremony. She performed a Pipe Ceremony with several staff members and students present. She explained the steps of the ceremony and told stories to help participants understand. She blessed the room and prayed for all of our students and she emphasized that the Smudge Room belongs to all of us.
